For some of the Part-Time Audiophile staff, including yours truly, AXPONA 2022 in Chicago will be the first high-end audio show we’ve attended for over two years. We’ve had a couple of shows recently, including last year’s Capital Audiofest and the Florida Audio Expo just this February, but the cobwebs hanging off the high-end audio industry kept things on the small, testing-the-waters size.
We’re geared up for AXPONA 2022, however. I will be heading up the coverage of the show, along with our own Graig Neville. Grover Neville, as well, can be spotted around the marketplace at the show. Rumor has it that our illustrious founder, Scot Hull, might be spotted wandering up and down the corridors since he’s now a Chicagoland local.
What are we excited about the most? Well, I can’t wait to listen to the Qln Signature monitors paired with the Vinnie Rossi Brama integrated amplifier. This combination wins a lot of Best of Show awards from PTA, but this new pairing might push the envelope considerably. And of course Von Schweikert Audio, VAC and The Audio Company will be there, setting the standard for everyone else. In fact, we’re going to start the AXPONA 2022 coverage on Friday with Dave McNair’s review of the Von Schweikert Ultra 55 speakers.
Coverage will start on Saturday, April 23 right here. If you’re in the area, think about stopping by. AXPONA 2022 runs from Friday the 22nd until Sunday the 24th. The venue is the enormous Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Conference Center in Scaumburg, Illinois. Check out the AXPONA website for more information. See you there!
