For those on the audio show circuit, there is the legend of “setup day”. For those with particularly fussy gear, or an uncommonly complicated demo, setup DAY is more setup WEEK, but the point is the same. Before the show, there is the setup.
And at the end of all that, there is the mixer.
It’s possible that this is the entire show. It’s possible that here is where all the work gets done. It’s possible that here is where the deals go down, the hands get shaken, the futures get decided.
It’s also possible that here’s where the greatly fatigued hoist a tasty few in the general direction of “good luck” and “it’s great to see you”.
And it IS great to see everyone. It’s been three years since I’ve been to AXPONA, two years since I’ve been to a show at all, and honestly, I’ve really missed all these weirdos.
