Janel and Anthony at Capital Audiofest

One of the things I liked best at CAF this year was the easy access to live music. I kinda wish more shows would arrange more of this — like, pretty much a constant, revolving, Festapalooza of live music. Classical. Acoustic. Rock and alternative. Dance/house. Why the hell not? Make a big ass party of the whole thing.

One of the acts booked for a couple of performances at CAF this year was Janel and Anthony. I thought they were good, though I forgot to pick up a copy of their album. Yep, I’m lame. Anyway, I think you can order LPs and CDs here, off their label Cuneiform Records.

“If your soul is downright weary from the burdens of everyday life, cellist Janel Leppin and guitarist Anthony Pirog present an ideal antidote with their intimate, intuitive music. In both bucolic acoustic numbers and immersive dronescapes, the duo offers transport from mundane matters of the world.” – Time Out New York

  1. Good people as well. Janel and Anthony hung out in our room for a while late that night so I got a chance to just shoot the s—t with them. The both have a real passion for music.
